法可出生于美国纽约市的布鲁克林区，母亲是演员Judith Anderson，父亲Frank Falco则是一位爵士鼓手。他的父亲拥有意大利血统，而母亲则是瑞典和英国移民的后代。而他的叔叔是著名作家、戏剧作家以及诗人Edward Falco。她在纽约长岛的西伊斯利普长大，并于1981年毕业于Northport High School，其后进入纽约州立大学帕切斯学院学习表演。大学时期，她与同期的同窗，今后也成为演员的史坦利·图齐和文·雷姆斯成为一生的挚交。
